Sumner Lake Eagle Nest Lake
Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest & Pawnee National Grassland Supervisor’s Office, Fort Collins, CO
The lobby area in the new Arapaho-Roosevelt “S.O.” not only provides a comfortable, efficient space for trip-planning (with maps on both regional and local scales), but also offers visitors an introduction to the history of the Forest Service and the natural/cultural resources of the Canyon Lakes Ranger District (which is headquartered in the building as well).
EDA designers and artists worked closely with staff from the Forest, District and the USDA’s Rocky Mountain Center for Design and Interpretation to create a functional and dramatic space with a central theme of water, even designing graphics with water conservation messaging that appear on the back of the stall doors in the restrooms.
