Choctaw Visitor Information Center
Hogden, OK

The Choctaw Visitor Information Center is another Forest Service project executed by Exhibit Design Associates. It focuses on trip-planning, with a “self-help” information station that allows visitors to match their available time, abilities, and ROS preferences with the region’s recreational opportunities and attractions. Working with a limited budget (less than $100/sq. ft.), EDA was able to design high-quality, visually-exciting exhibits that create a strong sense of place, help visitors understand the complex ecological interactions in the landscape, and foster a strong sense of stewardship by communicating the Forest Service mission and management objectives.

The unique geology of the Ouachita Mountains provides the unifying thematic concept called the “Winding Stair.”
